The information and links provided on this page are
intended to aid you in your research and understanding of
spyware / malware and it’s effect on you and your computer. We do
not endorse any product, in particular, and caution you
that the use of some of the products may cause your
computer to become unresponsive or unable to boot.
The removal products listed have been used by dfn
systems with success in correcting systems overcome by
spyware. Some require more technical knowledge to use than
others, which will be pointed out if you read the
information supplied by the author regarding its use. More
often than not, we have to manually edit the registry and
delete files in the system areas to completely cleanse an
infected system, which is not recommended for a novice.
We recommend that you thoroughly scan your system for
viruses with an anti-virus program, which has all of the
current updates as a first measure. There are many viruses
that work in tandem with spyware threats. We will update
the page with additional information as needed, in an
effort to help you combat these intrusions to your system.
In general, be cautious about what you download and
install on your system. Most of the spyware is introduced
in this manner. Many of the cute search bars, free games
or utilities to improve the performance of you computer
are spyware. Investigate sites promoting their products as
spyware removal tools, as many are spyware themselves.
Pornographic websites often contain spyware and/or
viruses, especially if you have to install something.
