WHAT TO DO IF YOUR PET IS MISSING IN ROSWELL
Many people don't realize that Roswell Humane Society and Roswell Animal Control are two separate entities. Part of this confusion probably stems from the fact that our kennels are next door to each other.
If your pet is missing, please take ALL of the following steps to find it.
1.
Check with your neighbors. Perhaps one of them saw what direction your animal headed, or maybe they are even sheltering it for you.
2.
Call Roswell Humane Society kennel at 622-8950. Our kennel and office are located at 703 East McGaffey. Hours are 9 to Noon and 1 to 4:30 from Tuesday through Saturday.
3.
Visit Roswell Humane Society and bring us a photo of your pet so that if it shows up at our facility we can call you. Also, look at the animals in our kennel. It's possible that whoever is at the front desk hasn't seen all of the animals we are currently sheltering.
4.
Call Roswell Animal Control at 624-6722. Hours are 8 to 5, Monday through Friday and 9 to 4 on weekends. Call first to make sure someone is there (they often have to go out to pick up an animal) tell them you are coming right down to check for you pet.
5.
Visit Roswell Animal Control!! They are located at 705 East McGaffey. It is very important that you come and look for yourself. Do this every day, Roswell Animal control has so many animals coming in and out on a daily basis that it is hard for them to keep track.
6.
Call local radio stations and ask them to let listeners know your pet is missing. Give them an accurate description of your pet and where it was lost from.
7.
Place a MISSING PET advertisement in the Roswell Daily Record. Again, give an accurate description of your pet and give phone numbers where you can be reached both at home and at work.
8.
DON'T GIVE UP!!! Your pet is part of your family and deserves all the effort you would place into looking for a lost child. Pets on the loose are in very grave danger. They can also endanger motorists who swerve to miss them and wind up in accidents.
